TOWNS Awardees

Dr. Tecson-Mendoza has been a scientist, teacher, and mentor to many students and researchers, and has promoted the culture of science in the country for many years. She is a member-academician of the National Academy of Science and Technology Philippines (NAST PHL) and Professor Emeritus, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) where she headed the Plant Biotechnology Program of the Institute of Plant Breeding and then the Crop Biotechnology Program of the Crop Science Cluster-Institute of Plant Breeding. Her researches on the biochemical and biotechnology aspects of Philippine agricultural and underexploited crops have been published in more than 100 scientific papers in refereed journals.
