June Pagaduan-Lopez

Dr. June specializes on psychosocial trauma and training first responders in disaster and health emergencies. She has lectured and written about torture, violence against women, prison health, gender and human sexuality, human rights and medicine, Covid and Mental Health, PTSD and values development and wrote the proposal for the Philippine Mental Health Bill which became law in 2018. She recently retired from the UN High Commission on Human Rights Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture (SPT) where she headed the medical working group and regional team for Asia Pacific. Dr. Lopez is vice-chair of the body monitoring prisons, mental health facilities, juvenile centers and homes for the elderly under the National Preventive Mechanism against torture in all places of detention.
