Paulynn Sicam

Paulynn is a writer, columnist and book editor. A retired journalist, she was a multi-awarded reporter, feature writer, section editor and columnist at the Manila Chronicle. From 1990 to 1994, she was a commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights where she headed the CHR’s education and information functions. She later joined the Benigno Aquino Foundation as head of its peace and human rights desk, and was a speechwriter for President Aquino. She was a consultant and a member of the government negotiating Panel for Peace Talks with the CPP-NPA-NDF from 1995 to 2015. For her continuing work in peace and human rights, she was given the PAX Award by her alma mater, St. Scholastica’s College, in 2014, and the Freedom Flame Award by the Friedrich Nauman Foundation in 2017.
