Zorayda Amelia Alonzo

Mel was an accidental government servant and leader prompted by the 1986 EDSA Revolution. Her experience in the private sector in investment banking and housing finance shaped her assignments in the public sector. President Cory Aquino appointed her Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PagIBIG Fund where she served for 10 years through the Ramos and Estrada administrations. Gloria M. Arroyo appointed her as Chair of the Small Business Guarantee and Finance Corporation, the financial arm of the Dept of Trade and Industry serving concurrently as DTI Undersecretary until her retirement in 2007. In 2011, Pres. Benigno Aquino III appointed her to the Board of the Bases Conversion and Development Corporation, rounding off 5 presidential appointments.
