Evalyn Ursua
Evalyn G. Ursua, has advocated for Women’s & Children’s Rights as part of an NGO for women that she co-founded and as an independent human rights practitioner. She led in the drafting of bills that became landmark legislation, including the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 and the Anti-VAWC Act of 2004. She had conducted critical policy research on a wide range of issues including gender-based violence and social and economic rights. Her public interest litigation work has covered issues such as the constitutionality of the VFA, the EDCA, and the Anti-Terrorism Act. She has worked with international development organizations as consultant in Southeast Asian countries where she helped in justice sector reforms, training of justice actors, and research.
