Laura David

Laura is a teacher, researcher, and science communicator who makes use of remote sensing and modeling to explore how ocean physics influences the distribution and state of ocean flora and fauna. Currently, she is the Director of UP Marine Science Institute, Chair of the CHED Technical Committee in Marine Science, part of the National Panel of Technical Experts of the Climate Change Commission, Climate Fellow of the OML Center, and Board member of TAO-Pilipinas, a women-led non-profit, NGO of technical professionals who help guide housing issues in urban and rural areas. Internationally, she is also a Scientific Steering Committee Member of Geo-BLUE Planet and Academy Member of Future Earth Coasts. Both organizations are committed to people relevant to ocean science.
