Ma Regina Justina Estuar

Reena is a Full Professor at the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science, Ateneo de Manila University where beginning in 2012, she founded the Social Computing Laboratory to develop computing platforms for social good. She has been managing the Ateneo Center for Computing Competency and Research and her research area includes: eHealth Systems, specifically on electronic medical records, disease surveillance systems and health informatics, and social computing. Reena co-founded BluEHR, an electronic medical record platform that facilitates the digitization of health records in rural health facilities and tugon.ph, an sms-web based incident monitoring platform that is currently being used for reporting and monitoring human rights violations. In 2020, she led a multidisciplinary team of mathematicians, computer scientists, data scientists, programmers and epidemiologists to build, operate and maintain FASSSTER, the official disease modeling platform of the DOH for Covid-19 surveillance.
