Values Development Program (VDP)

Values Development Program (VDP)

TOWNS Values Development Program (VDP) is a value-based, action-oriented training program for transformative leadership for the youth aged 15 to 25 that focuses on the values of Honesty, Care for Others, and Love for God and Country.

The VDP is a modular training program that consists of 12 webinars that aims to bring awareness to the youth’s own personal values linking these to values necessary towards building relationships within the family, the community and the larger nation. VDP is one of the strategies of TOWNS Integrated Lifelong Learning Empowerment and Resilience(TILLER) advocacy.

The Values Development Program has the following objectives:
a. Understand the dynamics of the valuing process through the experience of journeying inward;
b. Grow in understanding and acceptance of self and others through the energizer and sharing sessions;
c. Clarify personal values and reflect on the role these values play in their lives;
d. Enhance their awareness of the importance of emotional intelligence;
e. Draw inspiration from an encounter with persons who live out cornerstone values of transformative leadership;
f. Gain insights into the need for critical thinking and discernment;
g. Use creativity to envision their ideal community.

TOWNS partners with organisations to implement VDP using specially-produced materials consisting of lectures, video demonstrations, powerpoint presentations, dramas, animation and other teaching aids contained in 12 modules that were developed by TOWNS experts in collaboration with the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA).
